Getting more photography clients can be a challenging task. Here are five effective strategies to attract potential new customers;

  1. Develop a strong portfolio: A portfolio is a showcase of your best work that displays your skills and style. A well-curated portfolio can help you attract potential clients and make a strong first impression. Make sure to regularly update your portfolio and showcase only your best work.

    The portfolio should NOT be an archive of everything you’ve ever shot.

    Done well, it’s a curated showcase of your work that quickly delivers confidence to the clients.

  2. Leverage social media: Social media is an excellent tool for photographers and videographers to showcase their work and connect with potential clients. Share your work on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Research and use #hashtags and tag your clients. Find  and collaborate with other photographers and other creatives and models to expand your reach.

    Always ask before posting on paid projects, the client reserves the right to post first.

  3. Network: Attend local events, art shows, to meet new people, agents and promote your work. You can also reach out to other local businesses, such as wedding planners, event coordinators, and real estate agents, to form partnerships and gain referrals.

    Try to go and meet the booking agents at the model agencies, ask if their models need testing?

  4. Offer promotions: Offering discounts, special packages or referral programs can incentivize clients to choose your services over your competitors. Use promotional materials such as brochures, business cards, and flyers to advertise your services.
  5. Develop a niche: Specializing in a particular type of photography, such as weddings, events, or commercial photography, can help you stand out in a crowded field. This can help you establish yourself as an expert in your field and attract more clients looking for your specific services.

Remember, word-of-mouth is a powerful tool in the photography industry. Providing exceptional customer service and delivering high-quality work can lead to happy clients who are likely to recommend your services to others.
